Monday Scarlett Update:
-We are continuing to pray for healing of our sweet Scarlett and for her ability to cough to present itself as she is weaned off medications.
-So far the reduction of one of the IV sedatives has gone smoothly. It will be reduced at 10 am & should be gone by 10 pm tonight.
-Today morphine will move from IV to through her tube without a reduction in dosage in preparation for trying to wean it again tomorrow.
-they will retape her breathing tube today as it the tape has begun to loosen. They will have to sedate her a little more for this. Her respiratory levels remain steady & she remains on the ventilator as they work to wean her from medications before the trial run without the breathing tube.
-she has no skin breakdown/pressure injuries.
-Her WAT scores (withdrawal) continue to trend down, which is a good thing.
-Her bowel regimen continues to be reduced (which is good). She would be very embarrassed at us sharing this, but it is good news so we are.
-They are monitoring her nasal secretions as her white cell count is up slightly.
-She is getting custom splints from Occupational Therapy to protect her wrist and elbow joints from her muscle contractions during her neurostorming episodes.
Thank you for the continued prayers for our girl. We have a great medical team here, but know that healing for her will come from Jesus. All the glory to God for each miracle we have seen on this journey. Mark 5:41.
